Three Thousand Years of Longing
Three Thousand Years of Longing, directed by George Miller, follows British narratologist Dr Alithea Binnie (Tilda Swinton), who, while attending an academic conference in Istanbul, uncovers an ancient crystal bottle—and inadvertently releases a Djinn (Idris Elba). The Djinn offers her three wishes in exchange for his freedom. Cautious and steeped in the legends of wish-gone-wrong, Alithea is initially reluctant—but as he shares sweeping, mythic tales spanning millennia, she finds herself drawn in, ultimately making a wish that surprises them both.
